Registration
Want to join and play for Drummo Dragons?
Basketball Ballarat & Drummo Dragons require registration prior to the start of each season before a player can take the court.
The New Seasons typically:
Championship Season - Term 2 and 3
Summer Season - Terms 4 and 1
Please note: If a NEW player does not pay Basketball Victoria (BV) fees and plays, the team automatically records a 0-20 forfeit regardless of the final score.
BV Fees provide all players with insurance and this is valid for 12 months. Insurance becomes payable on the annual anniversary of the last time paid.
Basketball Ballarat & Drummo Club Registration
REGISTRATION on PlayHQ is compulsory before playing any games.
Basketball Victoria fees are $29 per junior and $43 per senior for 365 days from date of your first game.
Basketball Australia sets a levy of $5.50 per registration for 365 days from date of your first game.
Please note: You will need to register an account with PlayHQ if you have not played in the past 12 months. The previous SportsTG system is no longer used by Basketball Victoria.
WHat happens if i miss registration?
The club provides a reasonable length of time for you to register. Reminders are put out on the clubs private and public Facebook page, TeamApp, and the website. A number of teams will receive communication from Team Managers through team group chats. There is a number of communication platforms to ensure our members do not miss the registration messages.
Once registrations close, anyone seeking to register a player must contact the relevant Age Group Coordinator(s). If there are specific circumstances that prevented parents/guardians from registering on time, this will be taken into account. Age Group Coordinators will determine if there are any places available in their teams. Whether or not a player can be registered late is always at the discretion of the Age Group Coordinator. Parents/guardians who do register their children late must understand that teams may already have been selected. Age Group Coordinators are not obliged to create teams that they consider too large to accommodate late registrants.
If the circumstances warrant an existing player being able to register late, the Age Group Coordinator will provide the parents/guardians with the Late Registration Link which may include a late payment fee, in the amount set by the Committee.
Once the grading period is over, the match committee will revisit teams and players and hopefully, we can offer you a spot on a team. If not we will always offer the option to train.
